Psychotherapy helps you transform difficulties in your life, and find more satisfaction and fulfillment in your relationships, career, family, and life path.
When you first come in, I will ask you to describe the problem that brings you into therapy. From there, we have a conversation about it. I will ask you questions so that I can better understand the problem, and I will give you information about your specific problem. If you like, I can recommend resources or give homework assignments to speed the process of therapy.
From our initial conversation, we continue to discuss your concerns, broadening and deepening our understanding of your particular issues. At some point, we may agree that deeper methods such as EMDR, sandplay or dreamwork would be helpful. Use of these methods will always be your choice.
For some problems, a few sessions can bring substantial relief. However, if we address trauma, issues rooted in childhood, or deeply entrenched relational patterns that you would like to change, then therapy usually requires more time.
We meet for 50 minute sessions, usually once weekly.
